We have been working on applying for jobs in our company and almost everyone has been interviewed. We researched different charities to support through our business as a class and narrowed down our options to three causes: helping people with cancer, helping abandoned animals, and helping kids stay fit and active through sports. We needed to pick one cause and one charity to support.
After more research and presenting in teams, we voted and decided on Manitoba Underdogs Rescue to help abandoned animals. This charity is run by volunteers and the animals stay in foster homes with families until they're adopted. This means that the money we raise will all go toward helping animals (paying for food, vet bills, toys, and more) instead of paying employee salaries and the costs of running a shelter (because there is no shelter)! Ms. Smith, our business partner, gave us the idea. She will come to work with us twice this week, so we can get a jump on our business plan.
We also decided on a date for our Family Fun Night, which will be our big fundraiser.
